May 17, 1991 - March 8, 2003

   Friday, March 7, 2003, was a sunny, spring day, perfect for a ride. So, I saddled RTP Thor for a ride around the ranch. Like he did everything, RTP Thor put his whole heart and soul into the effort. He was full of energy, as always, the picture of health. We were looking forward to the coming show season and the many hours we would spend trail riding.

   The next day, breeding season began. After breeding a mare, RTP Thor collapsed and died of a heart attack. It is completely unimaginable that he is gone so quickly, leaving a hole in our breeding program that we have no idea how to fill. The ranch feels empty without his presence. He was a great horse and my friend. He is missed by everyone at RainTree.
